Read below the surface.
Palm-vein recognition looks beneath the skin. Near-infrared sensing reveals the vascular pattern inside the hand and turns a simple palm hover into a usable biometric identity.

Palm vein authentication reads the vascular pattern beneath your skin using gentle near-infrared light. It is 100% contactless, deeply private, and impossible to clone.
HOW IT WORKS
Capture. Verify. Match. Connect.
Palm-vein recognition looks beneath the skin. Near-infrared sensing reveals the vascular pattern inside the hand and turns a simple palm hover into a usable biometric identity.
Hold your palm above the sensor. The system captures the pattern without physical contact, verifies the identity and can immediately use that verification for experiences such as checkout or access.
The same palm identity can work across different terminal formats and environments. Verification can be handled on the device or through connected infrastructure depending on the deployment.
Once palm identity becomes part of the platform, it can connect with access systems, attendance, payments, terminals and software through the same underlying identity layer.
Biological Superpowers
Fingerprints leave grease on glass. Faces can be photographed from afar. Your vein network lives securely beneath your skin.
Even identical twins sharing identical DNA and facial profiles have completely distinct vascular vein layouts.
Unlike fingerprints that fade with manual work or age, internal adult vein patterns remain structurally unchanged over time.
Wet hands, dusty palms, light surface cuts, or dry skin never disrupt reading. 99.99% reliable verification every time.
Direct Comparison
| Palm vein | Fingerprint | Face | Card or PIN | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Physical contact with scanner | None (hover 5 cm) | Direct touch (hygiene risk) | None | Touch or tap |
| Where the credential lives | Under the skin (hidden) | On skin surface (leaves residue) | In public view (photographable) | Plastic card or in memory |
| Can be lent to a friend or cloned? | Impossible | High risk (silicone / latent print) | High risk (photos / deepfakes) | Trivial (borrowed or duplicated) |
| Failure due to sweat, dirt, or light | Zero impact (reads internally) | High (sweaty, worn, or dusty) | High (glare, shadows, face masks) | Damaged chip or dead phone |
| False acceptance rate (security) | 1 in 10,000,000 (military-grade) | 1 in 100,000 | 1 in 100,000 | Anyone holding the card passes |
End-to-End Architecture
A certified terminal running the Veinz Edge SDK captures the optical vein reflection. The Auth Gateway compares the encrypted vector against the local secure enclave or cloud vault.
The Policy Controller evaluates permissions, and Veinz Core commits the event to your campus or corporate ledger — unlocking turnstiles, recording class attendance, or executing your cafeteria payment.
